I have spent my entire career teaching in Guilford County including the previous six years here at Weaver Academy and fifteen years at Kiser Middle where not only did I teach but served as athletic and intramural director.  I received my certification in health education from UNCG in 1987 followed by graduate work at NC A&T for an endorsement in physical education in 1992.  In 2005 I achieved National Board Certification in Secondary Physical Education.  I have a passion for educating youth about the importance of fitness and spend a lot of my free time being active enjoying activities such as cycling, running, swimming, and golf.  In the summer of 2006 I cycled across the United States with my childhood best friend to raise money and awareness for the American Diabetes Association.  In 2007 I completed two marathons and continue to actively pursue competitive participation in triathlons.  I also enjoy visiting my family, reading, teaching Sunday school, teaching “spin” classes at the Bryan YMCA and occasionally taking care of three dogs!
