Gene Holder Metals Technology
I began working in the Metals Industry during my early teen years at a neighbors shop in his garage, performing both welding and machining operations. I later attended Central Carolina Community College and obtained my Tool and Die Diploma in 1983. Upon completion of my diploma, I then became employed at MOEN Faucets in Sanford NC, as a Tool and Die Maker. I later served my apprenticeship with Moen to obtain my Journeyman’s Credentials. I was laid-off from Moen in 1995 and began my own consulting/contracting business in which I performed contract CNC programming and operation services as well as proto-typing and design services. In 1997, I was employed at a Community Action Group Non-Profit (JOCCA), in Pittsboro NC, as a field manager for their Hurricane Fran Recovery Program, and as a field manager for their At-Risk and Summer Youth Programs. During my employment with JOCCA, I was recruited in August of 1998 to teach Metals Technologies at Lee County High School in Sanford NC. I moved to Weaver Academy in October of 2006. I have been teaching Metals Technologies for 10 years. |
