Jeffrey Hughes – Visual Arts

I have taught in the public school system for the last eight years but have worked as a professional graphic designer for twenty years. I have held the position of senior designer and art director for a number of creative studios; associations and printing firms and fifteen years were spent managing my own free-lance design business. I have also taught a variety of classes on the community college level, including Graphic Skills, Visual Communication, Typography, Computer Graphics and Digital Photography. I hold an Associate of Science degree in Commercial Photography and a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and Multi-Media Presentations from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I completed my education course work at Shenandoah University in Virginia. I teach courses in basic graphic skills, 3D design, typography, computer graphics, graphic design and photography.

Course Descriptions

Art I - 2D Design • The focus Art I will be on Principles of Design, drafting for the designer, use of adhesives, paper construction, space design and presentation techniques.

Art II - 3D Design • The focus will be on appling the Principles of Design in an 3D environment using a variety of materials.
